Pakistan and England are locking horns in the second Test of the three-match series at Multan Cricket Stadium. England have set a target of 355 runs for the home side to win in the fourth innings. Pakistan openers Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan gave a solid start to their chase adding 66 runs for the first wicket. As England searched for their first wicket, Ben Stokes handed the ball to James Anderson who didn’t disappoint and bowled a ‘Jaffa’ to get rid of Rizwan.

Anderson was brought into the attack in the 16th over of the innings and cleaned up Rizwan on the fifth ball of the over to give England their first strike. Anderson bowled a good length delivery angling into the right-hander. Rizwan, who was outside his crease and came forward to defend, but the ball straightened enough to miss the outside edge and hit the stumps. Nasser Hussain in the commentary box was full of praise for Anderson’s delivery and called it a ‘Jaffa’.

Rizwan was left shell-shocked. He did not move from his position for a few seconds and looked at Anderson. It was an absolute peach from the legendary seamer. Rizwan then walked towards Shafique, had a few words and then walked off with a wry smile, having scored 30 off 43 balls.

Anderson has returned to Pakistan after 17 years. He was part of the England squad that toured Pakistan way back in 2005. The 40-year-old veteran has played ODI cricket in the country before but his first Test came this year. In the first Test of the series, Anderson bowled a marvellous spell in the second innings to script an incredible victory for the three lions. He picked up four wickets in 24 overs giving away just 36 runs.

Earlier in the day, England resumed their innings on 202 for five. The sixth-wicket pair of Harry Brooks and Ben Stokes made a promising start as they put on a century stand. Stokes was dismissed on 41 while Brooks went on to score his second hundred of the series. England got bundled out for 275 and set a target of 355 for Pakistan to win the second Test and level the series 1-1.
