Cricket fans share a great bonding with their favourite teams. They can go to any extent to celebrate the victory or bewail their loss. Fans are a crucial part of any cricket match as without their presence the excitement of the game goes away. They remain involved in the game with their constant sounds of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ with every ball of the match and give a stadium-like experience even for the people watching it at home.

The sheer love for the game can make fans do anything to be a part of their favourite sport. Off-late, fans have begun running onto the pitch from the stands to meet their favourite cricket stars. But in England, it goes a step further. Fans are often seen ‘dressing up’ in the team’s jersey and rushing to the ground pretending to be a ‘player’ of the respective teams.

The same incident happened on Day 1 of the fifth Test between India and England as a fan dressed up in India’s jersey tried to enter the ground in an attempt to bat for the team. The individual was seen rushing onto the playfield with a bat in his hand after the dismissal of the Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer, who was dismissed on 15 runs by James Anderson. The security immediately grabbed him and escorted him out to the ground, the man was seen laughing and jumping around.

The entire incident was loved by the crowd at the stadium as it reminded them of a special fan named ‘Jarvo 69’ who was seen doing the same antics last year during the first four Tests of the series.

The first day of the fifth Test was full of action as England’s bowlers troubled India early on, leaving them reeling at 98 for 5 but then Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja got together at the crease to guide their team to safety. Pant scored a magnificent 146, while Jadeja is unbeaten on 83. India will resume their innings on Day 2 on the score of 338/7.
