One of the most anticipated clashes is around the corner. Yes, we will soon be witnessing India and Pakistan battling it out on a cricket field. The much-awaited clash will take place on the second match day of the Asia Cup on August 28. The encounter will be held at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. While the fans can’t wait for the intense contest between the Asian giants, a moment of sportsmanship was witnessed by the players of both sides.

Ahead of the marquee clash, the players from both sides are spending rigorous time in the nets preparing for the encounter. Meanwhile, players from the Indian camp portrayed a heartfelt gesture as they met the injured Pakistan pacer, Shaheen Afridi.

It is to be noted that Shaheen Afridi was ruled out of the multi-nation tournament due to injury. The Pakistan pace-spearhead has still travelled with the Men in Green squad in Dubai as the medical staff is monitoring him ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia later this year.

Pakistan Cricket, on their official Twitter handle, shared a video in which Indian players Virat Kohli, Yuzvendra Chahal, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul can be seen talking to Afridi. All the players were seen wishing him good luck for his recovery ahead of the World Cup.

The injury to the 22-year-old left-arm pacer is a huge setback to the Babar-led side, especially ahead of the India vs Pakistan clash. He was the leader of the bowling attack and also played a crucial role in his team’s victory against the Men in Blue in the T20 World Cup last year.

India and Pakistan are placed in Group A alongside Hong Kong. The second group consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. The Rohit Sharma-led side are the defending champions. The 15th edition of the tournament will be played in a T20 format. The Asia Cup will get underway with the match between hosts Sri Lanka and Afghanistan on August 27 (Saturday) in Dubai.
