India won the match against Nepal in the group stage of the Asia Cup 2023 to qualify further to the Super 4 stage. Though India won the match by chasing the target by 1-0 wickets, Nepal put up a commendable effort against the Indian team. The emerging Asian team gave a run for the money for the Indian team to achieve the victory.
In the rain affected game, Nepal managed to score 230 runs in their first innings. The opening pair had scored 66 runs in the Powerplay overs and took the attack on the Indian team. Despite the comeback from the Indian bowlers, the lower order batters took Nepal to a score of 230 runs in their first innings. The interruption of rain reduced the match to 23 overs and the revised target for India was 145.
India chased the target comfortably, thanks to a clinical batting performance from the pair of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. While Sharma scored 74 runs in 59 balls, Gill scored 67 runs in 62 deliveries and helped India to chase the target. Nepal was knocked out of the tournament in the process, who faced two of the toughest opponents in world cricket.

The Indian players were impressed by the fighting spirit of the Nepal players. The players of the Indian team went to the dressing room of Nepal and felicitated the players for their fight against India. The Indian players awarded medals to some of the players in Nepal’s dressing room. The players from Nepal were visibly happy with the gesture of the Indian players.
Some of the biggest Indian players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Hardik Pandya were present in the dressing room of Nepal to reward the players. In the viral video, the above-mentioned players were happy to present the medals to the Nepal players. There was a proud feeling in the faces of the players who received the award. There were some good performers for Nepal from the tournament, which will be a positive for the emerging side.
