Watch: ‘Hooda ayega, toh mein chala jaunga’- Internet impressed with Virat Kohli’s keenness to practice for an extended period of time
Hailed as India’s run machine, Virat Kohli, perhaps, won’t go in a World Cup as India’s best batsman in the batting line-up. The emergence of Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya, the presence of KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma, and the return of Dinesh Karthik have made India a force to be reckoned with.
India boast of an outstanding batting line-up and because of that, they are labelled as one of the favorites to lift the 20-20 World Cup 2022 title. For the first time in many years, Virat Kohli is not looked at as India’s prospect for the highest run-scorer in a multi-team tournament.
It’s largely due to his form in the last few years. He couldn’t score a century for more than 2 years until he broke the drought in the Asia Cup 2022 against Afghanistan. The former Indian skipper has played some stellar knocks, since.
However, it would fare to say that Kohli is trying too hard to get into the mold of scoring runs aggressively. Keeping in mind India’s aggressive approach in the shortest format, Kohli has got out a few times while trying to take the bowlers right from the onset of his innings.
However, the good thing for him and India is that the 33-year-old batter isn’t out of form. He was India’s highest run-scorer in the last two editions of the 20-20 World Cup and would be keen to score a plethora of runs this time around as well.
Ahead of the perennial tournament, Kohli has been practicing hard in the nets to prepare himself to take the best bowlers in the event. In a video surfacing on social media, Virat Kohli was adamant to keep practicing in the nets despite his allotted time-period getting over. He could be heard saying that he’ll practice until Deepak Hooda (the next batter) joins for practice.
“Virat, your time is up,” said one of the support staff members.
“Hooda ayega, toh mein chala jaunga (When Hooda comes, I’ll leave),” Kohli can be heard telling the support staff member.

India will start their 20-20 World Cup campaign with a highly anticipated encounter against Pakistan on 23rd October 2022.
