Hardik Pandya is known for his cool and calm demeanour on the field. He showcased it in a high-pressure game against arch-rivals Pakistan recently, when he played a match-winning innings of 33 with the bat and hit the winning six in the game to guide India to victory. His head nod after playing the shot broke the internet.
Pandya found himself in a similar situation in last night’s game against Australia. The all-rounder opened the face of the bat to help the ball for a four and did the head nod after that. India was chasing a stiff target of 187 in the second innings against Australia and they needed 32 from 18 balls and then Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli smashed 11 runs of the over which was bowled by Pat Cummins. Afterwards, Hardik Pandya took on Josh Hazelwood and smashed an all-important six which left India with 11 runs to get in the last over.
Hardik Pandya is just super cool under pressure
Virat Kohli hit an important six of Daniel Sams in the last over, which brought the equation down to five but he was out next ball. Dinesh Karthik took the single of the next delivery. Daniel Sams then bowled a precious dot to try to put some pressure on India. But Hardik Pandya was as cool as a cucumber, and he gently opened the face of the bat to hit it away from the short third man and it went to the boundary for four which gave India a 2-1 series win.
Hardik Pandya did not have the best of outings with the ball, but stayed till the end to give India comfort and hit the winning runs. He gave India yet another series win to keep India’s 100 per cent record intact in deciders at home.
