Gautam Gambhir has been a match winner throughout his career for India having played pivotal roles in the 2007 World Cup final and the 2011 World Cup final.
Gautam Gambhir did the same for India four years later on the biggest of stages at the World Cup in 2011 which was held in India on home soil. He played good impactful knocks leading up to the World Cup final. On the night of the final against Sri Lanka, he put his best foot forward and scored a match winning 97 to help India lift the World Cup after 28 years.
Cricketers are treated as big stars in India and are worshipped on a pedestal due to the star status. The fans have an immense amount of love for the cricketers and there are die-hard fans of the game. Gautam Gambhir has been a fine captain in the Indian T20 League as well, where he led the Kolkata side to two triumphs in 2012 and 2014. During the match against the Gujarat Giants, Gautam Gambhir, who is the skipper for the India Capitals, in the Legends League Cricket Tournament, exhibited a heartfelt gesture to a fan who came to touch his feet. The video has gone viral on social media and is breaking the internet.
The Incident happened at the end of the match between the India Capitals and Gujarat Giants. A die-hard fan of Gautam Gambhir ran like a bullet towards him and touched his feet. Gambhir immediately told the fan not to touch his feet. The fan handed a chart paper to Gambhir and wanted Gambhir’s autograph on the chart paper for which he willingly obliged.
