WATCH- Funny Sam Curran moment from 1st ODI vs West Indies leaves fans in splits

West Indies won the first ODI of the series to take a 1-0 lead

In the first ODI between England and West Indies, which was held at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua, the hosts emerged victorious by 4 wickets, chasing down a total of 325 with 7 deliveries still in the bank. The star of the show was the captain, Shai Hope, who smashed a magnificent 83-ball 109, his 16th hundred in one-day internationals.

Earlier, England’s captain, Jos Buttler, won the toss and opted to bat first. Plenty of their batters got starts but none of them could convert them into a massive score with Harry Brook being the only one to score a half-century. He ended with 71 off 72 deliveries with the help of 2 sixes and 7 boundaries. Significant contributions from Sam Curran (38) and Brydon Carse (31) helped England post a more than reasonable total of 325 on the board.

In response, the West Indies got off to a great start as openers Alick Athanaze and Brandon King shared a 104-run stand. However, regular fall of wickets pegged them back and at 213-5, it seemed like the game was gone. However, their captain, Hope stood up for the team as he took his team over the line, smashing a sublime century in the process. His knock, which was a beautifully constructed one, was laced with seven sixes and four boundaries. He was adjudged the Plyer-of-the-Match and quite deservingly so.

These two teams will now meet on Wednesday, December 6 for the second ODI which will be held on the same ground.

Following the conclusion of the game, a video snippet has gone absolutely viral. In the video, Sam Curran is seen batting with sunglasses on. Off the first delivery of the 43rd over, the youngster smashes Oshane Thomas for a four and then fist-bumps his partner at the other end. The fact that he was wearing sunglasses made the moment look hilarious. The video has been viewed millions of times on social media, and it has been the talk of the cricketing world. Many fans have taken to social media to express their amusement at Curran’s swagger.
