WATCH: Fabien Allen’s enormous hit smashes windows during CPL T20 game against Guyana Amazon Warriors

Jamaica Tallawahs all-rounder Fabien Allen smashed a huge six in the game against Guyana Amazon Warriors that clattered the window pane during the CPL T20 game.

Guyana Amazon Warriors on Thursday solidified their place at the top of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) table. The Warriors beat Jamaica Tallawahs by 7 wickets in the 25th match of the tournament. It was an important game for the Jamaican team as they needed a win to stay in contention for the play-off places. Imran Tahir’s Guyana team had already qualified for the knock-out phase of the tournament along with Trinbago Knight Riders. Imran Tahir won the toss and chose to bowl first as Guyana wanted to make use of the home conditions.

Dwaine Pretorius was bowling the final ball of the 18th over. Fabien Allen got a full delivery and he duly hit it over the long-off boundary. The ball traveled miles and hit the window pane of the commentary box enclosure.

Guyana won the CPL 2023 game by wickets 

Jamaica after being asked to bat first, lost the wicket of Alex Hales for 9. Brandon King and Kirk McKenzie then added 50 runs for the 2nd wicket. McKenzie was the next to go when he was out for 13. The top scorer for the visiting Jamaica side was Brandon King who had scored 52 off 32 balls. His knock included 10 fours and a six before he fell to Gudakesh Motie. Imad Wasim and Shamarh Brooks found going tough against the incisive bowling by Guyana. Raymon Reifer and Fabien Allen then added the finishing touches to the innings. Reifer was not out on 20 off 14 deliveries with 3 fours. Allen was not out on 21 off 14 balls with 2 sixes including the gigantic one off Pretorius bowling. Jamaica ended their innings with 152 on the board.

Chasing 153 to win, it was Pakistani opener Saim Ayub who did the damage. The left-handed –batter scored 85 runs in just 53 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes. Young opener Matthew Nandu scored 37 off 20 balls. The pair added 112 for the opening wicket. Despite losing three wickets, the home team managed to cross the finish line easily. Guyana won the game in 18.3 hours with 7 wickets in hand. The winning run came off Odean Smith who hit a four to seal the deal.
