The Ashes have been wonderful to watch as Australia are leading England 2-1 after three hard-fought Test matches. Australia beat England by 2 wickets at Edgbaston and by 43 runs at Lords before England came back with a 3-wicket win at Headingley. There are still two Test matches to go and people are dubbing it as the best Ashes Test series ever.  The fans will be hoping for two more electric encounters.

On another note, in an extremely funny video, the craze for the Ashes is there even at the NATO summit in Lithuania. On Tuesday England Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese indulged in banter over the Ashes. It started with Albanese taking out a printout of the Ashes scoreline in the series so far. Sunak in response took out printed pictures of Mark Wood and Chris Woakes in a tight embrace after a hard-fought win at Headingley.

Watch the video:

The two Prime Ministers talked about the controversial Jonny Bairstow stumping at Lords

Albanese quickly hit back by bringing out the picture of Jonny Bairstow’s stumping in the second Test at Lords. Bairstow was out stumped by Australia wicketkeeper Alex Carey who was caught napping as he strode out of the crease without informing any of the Australian fielders which resulted in his run out. After that happened, a vast debate aroused with regard to the spirit of cricket.

Sunak then took a jibe at Albanese by saying, “I’m sorry I didn’t bring my sandpaper with me,” this was in reference to the ball-tampering scandal which took place in 2018 at Cape Town in South Africa which featured some players from the Australian Cricket Team. Australia have had a great time in 2023 ever since they set foot on English shores as they won the World Test Championship (WTC) final against India at the Oval ahead of the Ashes.

The Ashes have been amazing to watch and its discussion at meets like NATO talks about the cricket fever all over the world especially in England and Australia. The Ashes with its high-intensity cricket has kept everyone glued to the games and also to their tech devices. The fans will want to see the rivalry between England and Australia get more feisty.
