Nepal Cricket's meteoric rise continues as Dipendra Singh scores fastest fifty.

Nepal created records and history on their way to a huge win over Mongolia on Wednesday, Nepal began the men’s cricket competition in Asian Games 2023 with a 273 run win. This was the biggest win in the history of T20 cricket.

The Nepal team also created history as they posted the highest total in T20 cricket history. Rohit Paudel led side scored 314 for the loss of three wickets from their 20 overs. Nepal broke the 4-year record held by Afghanistan who had scored 278 against Ireland.

One man who will remember the day is none other than young batter Dipendra Singh. The 23-year-old scored the fastest ever half-century in the history of T20 Cricket. The Nepal batter broke the record set by Yuvraj Singh.

Dipendra Singh’s brutal assault leaves Mongolian bowlers shattered

Mongolia had seen Rohit Paudel and Kushal Malla add 193 runs for the 3rd wicket. When the Nepal skipper fell he was replaced by Dipendra Singh. The Right-handed batter got going with a huge six of his first ball.

The second ball was yet another drag down as Singh hit yet another six. Dipendra Singh was soon 18 from 3 with yet another six as it sailed out of the ground. The fun continued when the fourth ball also sailed for a huge six. Dipendra Singh was now toying with the bowlers.

The carnage continued as the 23-year-old continued hitting the Mongolian bowlers all over the park. Dipendra Singh’s 8th six saw him write his name in the history books. The youngster had scored the fastest T20 half-century. The batter had broken the 16-year record which was held by Yuvraj Singh.

Yuvraj Singh had scored the half-century in 12 balls during the T20 World Cup in 2007. The landmark came during the famous assault on Stuart Broad. Yuvraj had hit the English bowler for 6-sixes in an over.

Kushal Malla was not out on 137 runs from 49 balls. The 19-year-old also created history when he scored a century in T20 cricket. The right-handed batter got to the mark in 34 balls just one better of the previous record. Rohit Sharma and David Miller had jointly held the previous record.
