On a pitch that was a feather bed for the batters at the Banaspara Cricket Stadium on October 2, Sunday, they went all out and took on the strong Proteas bowling lineup. India’s batting was led by KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Dinesh Karthik, who were all among runs. This helped the Men in Blue to mount a monstrous total of 237-3 in their 20 overs.

In the second innings of the game, South Africa knew they were in with a chance to square the series if they went hell for leather, which is what they did. Though Arshdeep Singh picked up two wickets in his first over and derailed South Africa early in the chase. Quinton de Kock and David Miller forged a comeback for the ages as de Kock and Miller totally obliterated the bowling attack.de Kock scored a superb 69 from 48 balls with three fours and four sixes.

David Miller took the Indian bowling attack to the cleaners and smashed an outstanding 106 from 47 balls with eight fours and seven sixes. The duo got South Africa extremely close to the target only to fall short by a mere sixteen runs. “It was very tough, to be honest. I don’t really come around too often but scoring in an innings like that felt very special. Really disappointed as it goes towards a losing cause. Quinny (Quinton de Kock) batted exceptionally well. Struggled up front but he batted all the way through and it was great to have a really good partnership with him,” Miller said in a video shared by Cricket South Africa on Twitter.

“It was really hot so just tried to not run as much and try and hit as many boundaries as possible. But yes, it was a great partnership and I really enjoyed batting with Quinny again. Where I am right now, I am feeling really comfortable with my game. You know you are never guaranteed success but I just feel like learning from my mistakes from the past and trying and get myself nice and set, backing myself a lot more but really enjoying my cricket,” added Miller.
