A sensational fielding effort was shown by Bradley Currie during yesterday’s Vitality T20 Blast match between Sussex and Hampshire to dismiss Benny Howell. Currie amazed all the spectators present there and the commentators. During the second ball of the penultimate over of the match, Howell hit a gorgeous stroke of Tymal Mills delivery towards an unguarded area that seemed to go over the boundary line.

However, Currie came running out of nowhere, covered quite a distance within a few seconds, and took a big leap in the air to grab a spectacular and jaw-dropping catch that amazed everyone present on the ground. Even the commentators couldn’t control themselves from acknowledging the brilliant fielding effort.

Sussex registered a close victory against Hampshire

Talking about the match, Sussex registered a thrilling victory against Hampshire by 6 runs in match number 78 of the ongoing season. Sussex registered their third victory of the season, however, they are still standing in the eighth position at the points table of the South group, while Hampshire is still in the top four with five wins from nine matches so far.

Batting first, Sussex posted a total of 183 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Oli Carter top scored with 64 runs off 33 balls hitting six fours and fours sixes. He also put up a 98-run partnership with the skipper Ravi Bopara, who got out after scoring 30 runs off 29 balls. For Hampshire, John Turner and Benny Howell took 2-2 wickets.

Chasing the winning total, Hampshire didn’t have a great start as they lost 3 wickets for just 15 runs in 2.1 overs. Skipper James Vince, Ben McDermott, and Toby Albert got out cheaply. In the next over, Ross Whiteley also his wicket after scoring just 1 run.

After that, Joe Weatherley and Liam Dawson added 51 runs for the fifth wicket. Weatherley got out after scoring 33 runs off 28 balls hitting five boundaries. While Dawson went on to score a half-century after a well-made 59 runs off 34 with four fours and five sixes. For Sussex, Bradley Currie took 3 wickets for 27 runs in his four overs. At last, Hampshire could only reach 177 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.
