Gujarat Titans coach Ashish Nehra was in a jubilant mood on Saturday as his team took on Kolkata Knight Riders in an IPL 2023 match at Eden Gardens. The defending champions were seeking to avenge their earlier loss at home to KKR. Nehra was seen laughing and giving a thumbs up to the camera as Joshua Little and Mohammed Shami cleaned up the KKR middle order. The Gujarat bowlers put up an impressive performance as they restricted KKR to 179 for seven, ending the innings with the dismissal of Andre Russell.

Here’s Ashish Nehra’s hilarious prank on Murali Kartik:

Nehra was seen in a hilarious footage shown by the broadcasters during the match, where he playfully attacked his former teammate and left presenter Murali Kartik. Kartik was seen in pain and dropped to the ground, while Nehra couldn’t stop laughing. Kartik later called it “unexplainable” when asked about it in the commentary box.

GT thump KKR by 7 wickets

The start of the match was delayed due to rain in Kolkata, and the footage was shown during the fag end of KKR’s innings. In the video, Nehra and Kartik can be seen having a discussion next to the pitch before the start of the game. The incident left Nehra in splits while Kartik struggled to get back up.

KKR batted first and Rahmanullah Gurbaz led the charge single-handedly, scoring 81 off 39 balls. However, he received no support from the other end as batters like Venkatesh Iyer and skipper Nitish Rana faltered. Little dismissed them successively, while Rinku Singh, the hero of KKR’s previous match against GT, failed to make an impact on the scoreboard, departing for 19 off 20. Russell’s 34 off 19 helped KKR to post a score of 179 for seven.

The Gujarat Titans put up an impressive chase and won the match by six wickets with six balls remaining. They rode on a solid opening partnership between Shikhar Dhawan and Devdutt Padikkal and finished the match with contributions from all their batsmen.
