Watch: Adam Gilchrist looked absolutely thrilled to meet Virat Kohli ahead of Netherlands tie
Team India registered a big win against the Netherlands by 56 runs. In their encounter against the Dutch on October 27, Thursday. The Men in Blue put up a great show with the bat as they made 179-2 in their 20 overs. They were on song with the ball as they restricted the Dutch to 123-9 in their 20 overs.
Ahead of the game, Virat Kohli was seen having a chat with Dale Steyn, Adam Gilchrist suddenly interrupted proceedings and was seen giving a very long and tight handshake to the talismanic India batter. He congratulated Kohli for his terrific knock against Pakistan.
Gilchrist shook hands with Kohli and gave him a pat on the back and a thumbs up to the former Indian captain and after that Gilchrist took leave of Virat Kohli.

Kohli was awarded the player of the match for his game-changing knock against Pakistan as he scored 82 not out and saw India through the chase. He resurrected India’s innings at 34-4 and formed an 1113-run alliance with Hardik Pandya to bring India back into the game.

Kohli followed it up in the Netherlands game as he scored 62 off 44 balls with three fours and two sixes. He forged two partnerships with the Men in Blue. He forged a 73-run partnership with Rohit Sharma and then put in a 95-run stand with Suryakumar Yadav for the second wicket.
India were helped by Suryakumar and Rohit as they scored 53 off 39 balls with four fours and three sixes and 51 off 25 balls with seven fours and one six respectively. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Axar Patel bowled superb spells and picked up two wickets apiece with the ball for India. They were also backed up by Arshdeep Singh and Ravichandran Ashwin who both picked up two wickets as well.
This win over the Netherlands gives India two victories in two games. They will return on Sunday as they play against an in-form South Africa who have won against Bangladesh by 104 runs and have registered the highest total of 205 in this year’s 20-20 World Cup.
