Suryakumar Yadav has been in top form this year as he plundered runs all around the world. The star batter scored his second hundred in T20I against New Zealand on Sunday smashing a magnificent 111 off 51 balls. Courtesy of his classy innings, India managed to beat New Zealand by 65 runs in the second T20I. Criticising the Indian selectors for bringing SKY into the Indian team too late, former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria claimed that the Indian think tank wasted crucial cricketing years of the top-ranked batter.

Kaneria stated that the selectors wasted his five years but the star batter has made up for the lost time.

“The Indian selectors wasted Suryakumar Yadav’s five years. However, he has made up for the lost time, proving his mettle at the highest level with consistent performances. Everywhere we look, each and every expert is talking about Suryakumar today,” the former Pakistan cricketer shared his views on YouTube.

There has never been a player in world cricket who has hit shots like these : Danish Kaneria

“The beast mode of Suryakumar Yadav continues. He picked up before the T20 World Cup, continued the same during the World Cup, and is now doing the same in New Zealand. He was phenomenal. The way he bats, there is no corner of the ground that he doesn’t utilise. There has never been a player in world cricket who has hit shots like these. The bowlers tend to look completely helpless against his onslaught,” Kaneria added.

SKY has been enjoying a great run of form with the bat in 2022 as he’s the leading run-scorer in T20is this year. He has 1151 runs to his name at an average of 47.95 and a strike rate of 188.37. He has nine fifties and two hundreds to his name this year.

Thanks to his stupendous form, the Mumbai batter has risen to the top of the T20I rankings having 859 rating points. He’s followed by Pakistan opener Mohammad Rizwan who has 836 rating points on the number two position.

SKY will be next seen in action during New Zealand vs India third T20I in Napier on Tuesday.
