The Indian T20 League helps you get noticed-  Virender Sehwag

“The Indian T20 League has benefited young talent the most. Earlier, nobody got noticed for Ranji Trophy performances and hence couldn’t make it to the Indian team. But now, if you perform well in the Indian T20 League and you showcase your talent, then immediately, you get an opportunity to play for the Indian team. Because of the Indian T20 League, so many children from smaller states of the country have started taking cricket seriously and try their best to participate in the Indian T20 League and strive hard for it. For example, my son is 15 years old and is already working hard to get a chance to play in the Indian T20 League,” Sehwag said in a press conference at the same event.

Sehwag has played for the likes of Delhi and Punjab in the Indian T20 League. He played his last season in 2014 where he helped Punjab reach their first-ever final in the Indian T20 League against Kolkata. However, they lost the tournament that year. He later went on to coach Punjab as well. The veteran cricketer was famous for his easy approach with the bat of hitting out or getting out.

The Indian T20 League will return to its original home-and-away format in the 2023 edition. The last edition was entirely played in Maharashtra at the Wankhede Stadium, DY Patil Stadium, Brabourne and Pune. The League will also have a women’s version of the same that will start this year in March. The auction for the women’s league recently concluded.
