Virat Kohli has well and truly come back to form. The talismanic batter continued his good form in the 20-20 World Cup against the Netherlands as he scored 62 off just 44 balls with three fours and two sixes. He followed this up after scoring a game-changing 82 not out against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq was all praises for Kohli after his second half-century in the 20-20 World Cup against the Dutch. It has not been a smooth ride for Kohli with the bat in the last two years. Inzamam said that with Kohli going great guns with the bat in the tournament and with the other batters also firing. It makes the Indian batting line-up potent.

“Suryakumar scored a fifty off just 25 balls. Kohli is a type of player who wins matches if he is in form. These things matter in cricket. When you are performing and the team is winning, it means that things are going great. And Kohli’s form is looking good. He is batting well and winning games,” Inzamam said on his YouTube channel.

India and South Africa’s top-order looks settled: Inzamam

“So, these are good signs for the Indian team. Rohit Sharma too scored a fifty and India’s top order is looking solid. Among all the teams, India and South Africa’s top-order looks settled. Hardik Pandya too scored crucial runs down the order,” added former Pakistan captain.

Kohli came back into form at the Asia Cup 2022 where he scored 276 runs with two fifties and one century to his name. He got the runs at an average of 92 and at a strike rate of 147.59. The headline knock was 122 runs off 61 balls with 12 fours and six sixes.

He has now won India two games with the bat in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 and will look to continue on his merry way as India are scheduled to face South Africa at Perth on Sunday. The whirlwind knock against Pakistan will give Kohli the confidence to help his team go all the way in the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
