India and England are set to lock horns with each other for a 3-match ODI series, which is scheduled to start on the 7th of July 2022. India and England, who are both powerhouses in One day cricket, will look to iron out their flaws and be in full readiness with their preparation for the world cup that is slated to take place in India in 2023.

India will look to carry the good run of form against England after having won the recently concluded T20I series against England by a 2-1 margin.

India have not been in good form in the One day format and this has not been the best format for India to play in at recent times. They will look to come all guns blazing against England and be one better in the limited overs series as well.

However, the return of all-rounder and Test captain, Ben Stokes, along with Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow should strengthen the hosts’ batting line-up in particular.

“We’ll be looking at them to bring in that energy, which they’ve had in the Test matches of late. They’ve had a great summer, but they still want to keep building on that,” England’s white-ball head coach Matthew Mott said.

Also, if Kohli is unavailable, Suryakumar Yadav could come in place of former skipper and bat at No.3. For the unversed, Virat Kohli might not play the ODI game as he reportedly sustained a groin strain during the third and final T20I at Trent Bridge on Sunday.

That said, with options at their disposal, the Indian team management may not be too worried with the uncertainty over Kohli as the side would like to have an in form player who can play in the eleven. India have a 17 member squad at their disposal and do not have any dearth with regards to back up options, which, India will look to make full use of.
