KL Rahul has yet again coped severe criticism for his knocks in the Indian Premier League. The LSG skipper was the talk of the town yet again as he scored a laborious 68 off 61 balls against Gujarat Giants. Although Rahul emerged as the highest run scorer for his team, he would have felt equally guilty off not finishing the run chase for his side. LSG needed 17 runs in the final two overs but could not finish the game.

Mohammed Shami bowled an amazing 19th over. He gave away just five runs. It was a top over under pressure as LSG had to get 12 runs in the last over. Mohit Sharma used his change ups beautifully and dismissed Rahul and Stonis off back-to-back deliveries. Then the run outs of Ayush Badoni and Deepak Hooda took place. Rahul has previously also come under the scanner for his batting intent.

Here are what some of the famous names in World Cricket thought about Rahul and his batting. Rahul was brutally trolled as he was very slow to get of the blocks in the IPL and also across formats. The Karnataka batter has been having a rather awful run of form with the bat.

I don’t know why KL Rahul has been given so many chances – Venkatesh Prasad

“Watching KL Rahul bat in powerplays is the most boring thing I have ever been through,” Pietersen said during commentary in the game against RR. “I have a lot of regard for KL Rahul’s talent and ability, but sadly his performances have been well below par. A test average of 34 after 46 tests and more than 8 years in international cricket is ordinary. Can’t think of many who have been given so many chances,” Venkatesh Prasad had tweeted earlier on Rahul.

“I think KL Rahul has just to back himself a little bit. He is scared of getting out. You cannot bat that way, you’ve got to be confident in your own ability. He is just restricting himself. I’d love to see him bat freely and not worry about getting out,” Mark Waugh hinted that KL Rahul is getting into a shell and that is not helping him at all.

“I am surprised. It was a bit painful as well. When you are chasing 213 and you are the captain, you need to lead from the front,” Wasim Jaffer said on ESPNcricinfo. While LSG were chasing 213 against RCB, Rahul scored 18 off 20 balls before he was dismissed by Mohammed Siraj.
