With a new VCT format, this year’s VCT is featuring region kickoff tournaments. VCT Americas is also going full speed ahead. All regional teams are fighting to secure the top two spots to guarantee a seat in VCT Masters Madrid.

Group Stage

The tournament features 11 teams who are currently fighting each other in the matches happening in the group stage. These teams are divided into three groups, with the last group only featuring three teams, with one getting a bye.

Matches will be played in a double-elimination format. The winners of the opening matches will face each other for a spot in playoffs, while the losers will fight each other to avoid elimination.

Playoffs & Play-In

The top teams from each group will move to playoffs while the second spot will move to play-in. All teams in play-in will play matches in a single round-robin and only one will move to playoffs.

Playoffs will start on March 2 and will feature the four teams in a Single-Elimination bracket. Teams reaching the grand final will qualify for Masters Madrid, however, only the winner will receive championship points.

  • Group A – NRG, Cloud9, MIBR, FURIA Esports
  • Group B – 100 Thieves, Leviatán, LOUD, Sentinels
  • Group C – Evil Geniuses, G2 Esports, KRÜ Esports

Opening matchups –

NRG Vs FURIA (Group A)
Cloud9 Vs MIBR (Group A)
LOUD Vs Sentinels (Group B)
Leviatán Vs 100 Thieves (Group B)
KRÜ Esports Vs G2 Esports (Group C)

Opening matches for Group A finished on February 16 with NRG and Cloud9 defeating their opponents. FURIA Esports and MIBR will now fight to stay in the tournament. NRG and Cloud9 on the other hand will fight for a spot in playoffs.
