The 2023 World Cup continues to be filled with hurdles. The warm-up game between Pakistan and New Zealand is set to be played behind closed doors. No fans will be allowed at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. The Indian Cricket Board will give an explicit order to Book My Show the official ticketing partner to refund money to the fans who have booked tickets for the game.

“The game will be played without spectators and those who have booked their tickets, their money will be refunded,” An Indian Cricket Board official said. The Hyderabad Police had initially asked the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) to push the game forward as they would not have been able to provide proper security due to the festive season in India.

10 venues will  be used for the 2023 World Cup in India

They are tied up with the festivals Ganesh Visarjan and Milan-Un-Nabi which will finish on September 28. With the schedule already having undergone several changes, the organisers were unable to listen to the request and hence it has now been decided that the spectators will not be allowed entry inside the stadium. The HCA had earlier sounded the alarm off having to host back-to-back World Cup matches on October 9 and 10. Hyderabad is one of Pakistan’s venues where they will play a few games.

3000 policemen will be involved in one game. On October 9 New Zealand and  Netherlands will lock horns. And on October 10 Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. A lot of changes were made to the schedule as the India-Pakistan game’s date was changed at the last minute from October 15 to October 14 on the occasion of Navaratri in Gujarat.

Also, Kolkata was earlier scheduled to host the Pakistan-England clash on November 12, which falls on the day of  Kali Puja, a huge festival in Bengal. That game has now been marked for November 11. There will be 10 venues which will be used for World Cup 2023.
