‘Usko Rahul laya tha wapas wo dono ek sath chale gaye’ – Fans react as Jaydev Unadkat ruled out of IPL 2023 due to shoulder injury
Lucknow Super Giants pacer Jaydev Unadkat has been ruled out for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2023. This happened due to a left shoulder injury that he picked up while he was doing his net sessions on Sunday. As per a report from Espncricinfo, he would be fit in time for the Test Championship final in England.
Unadkat ran in to bowl his first ball in the LSG nets on Sunday. He ran in from round the wicket and unfortunately his left foot got struck in the rope that is able to hold the net up. The left-arm pacer had a bad fall on his bowling elbow. He was seen holding his left shoulder tightly and then had an icepack on his shoulder while he was still at the ground.
KL Rahul also hurt his right leg when Lucknow Super Giants played against Royal Challengers Bangalore
Espn Cricinfo had said that Unadkat had visited a specialist consultant appointed by Indian Cricket Board. He travelled to Mumbai for scans. He is now going to head to the NCA and undergo rehab. Unadkat had made a comeback into the Indian Test side in the second Test against Bangladesh at Dhaka.
KL Rahul also got an injury the day Unadkat had got injured. Rahul hurt his right leg when he was running after a ball in the outfield in the first innings against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The extent of Rahul’s injury is still not known. The results of Rahul’s scans and the nature of his injury is still unknown. Unadkat has played for the likes of Kolkata Knight Riders, RCB, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians and now LSG in the IPL.
Rahul was named in India’s squad for the Test Championship final. But it remains to be seen whether the Karnataka batter will make the cut. India will be playing their second Test Championship final against Australia at the Oval. They had lost the Test Championship final in 2021 against New Zealand. The final will be played between 7 and 11 June after the IPL concludes.

Unadkat, shreyas, bumrah, pant and most probably rahul all are injured before wtc. Nca and bcci management are useless, their full focus on IPL not on wc and wtc.

Before IPL there were lots of talks about load management specially fast bowlers. I haven’t seen a single game rest for Shami/Siraj. Umesh/Jaydev missed coz their franchises didn’t consider them.

Jaydev was never meant to be in XI

If by luck they end up winning some tournament then consider it a plus, otherwise no one is motivated to play for amd win tournament for india every passing day, club cricket will be the future of cricket anyway with international cricket limited to major tournaments only.
