Australia has suffered yet another blow ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023. Ashton Agar, one of their main spinners, is ruled out of the ODI World Cup 2023. Since the tournament will be happening in India, where spinners have a big role, the news of Agar missing out the tournament will be a big blow for the Australian team. Agar could have been handy in the Indian conditions as a spin-bowling All-rounder.

Earlier this year, Ashton Agar sustained a calf injury, which ruled him out of the South African ODI series. Following it, Agar missed the series as he expected the birth of his first child. But the injury of the Australian spinner seems to be not recovering before the tournament, which has ruled him out of the big event. The reports suggest that Agar might not be available for Australia soon and might need more time to be fully fit.

In the absence of Agar, the reports suggest that Marnus Labuschagne is said to be the front runner as a replacement. For starters, Labuschagne is an anchor, who can control the run flow in the middle overs. The middle order batter is also a capable bowler, who can roll his arms. In the Indian conditions, the traits of Labuschagne will be helpful for Australia.
