In the most recent HideoTube web series, popular game developer Hideo Kojima revealed a bit more about his new espionage game. The game is in very early development, so there is no telling what will or won’t be there.
“Of course, it will be a game. However, if your mother walks in and sees you playing this game, she’ll think you’re watching a movie. I’m not sure how far we can take it yet,” Kojima said in his statement.
After leaving the tactical espionage genre, Kojima revealed that he wanted to create something new. The idea was to create his IP and a franchise from it. This gave birth to Death Stranding and then Death Stranding 2.
Now that he has accomplished his goal, he intends to answer the requests of his fans. “In the last eight years, every day on social media, from users all around the world, people have been asking me to create another Metal Gear and stuff like that,” he said.
The idea came after fell ill in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kojima revealed that he might live much longer, so to provide gamers with what they desire, he decided to make an action-espionage game. In the recent State of Play, Kojima confirmed that the game is still far away. The game is being prepped for development, however, Death Stranding: On The Beach is set to release next year. Apart from that, Kojima is also working on another game called OD.
It is currently safe to say that the game is still miles away from seeing the light of the day. Kojima is currently 60, however, he wishes to keep making games and never retire.
