‘United bhi acha club hai yaar’ – Fans react to Erling Haaland covering Manchester United badge while clicking selfie with fan

In a humorous video, Erling Haaland of Manchester City took a photo with a young supporter of Manchester United and had to cover up the badge on his jersey. The Red Devils supporter approached the 22-year-old in the footage that was made public by the Norwegian station TV 2 Sport. The young fan asked Haaland for a picture and the young striker was more than pleased to accept the proposal for a picture. Haaland made sure he covered up the United badge on the fan’s jersey while clicking a picture with him. 

Erling Haaland, who was on national duty, has kept up his sterling form with Norway. On Tuesday, June 20, the City striker scored twice as they defeated Cyprus 3-1 during a Euro 2024 qualifying match. Three days previously, they had lost 2-1 to Scotland.

With 52 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions, Haaland emerged as Europe’s top scorer this season. He was a crucial part of City’s spectacular treble-winning season. In a 6-3 rout against Manchester United that took place at Etihad in October, the former Borussia Dortmund forward scored a spectacular hat-trick. The aforementioned video suggests that he is well aware of the rivalry between the two Manchester clubs.

In relation to Haaland’s debut in England, Manchester City gained what Manchester United lost. The former Molde manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have had the Norwegian playing for the Reds of Manchester. The Old Trafford team opted against making a bid for the attacker, according to the former Red Devils manager. He claims that when in charge of the Norwegian team Molde in 2017–18, he made contact with United.

Former Manchester United manager spoke about how United rejected a proposal to sign the youngster from Molde. He said, “I got in contact with United because we had this talented striker who they should have had. But they didn’t listen, unfortunately. Four million, I asked for. But they never signed him. Four million! Don’t ask (where he is now). He’s too good.”
