Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov, mid-laner for Tundra Esports, has been removed from the team. This decision came moments before the team was set to compete against Shopify Rebellion in DreamLeague Season 22.

At the time the news was revealed, many people did not believe it. Match forfeit and team disqualification is one thing, however, removing a player right before the match is something else. Ivanov also posted the news on X. “LFT, just got kicked before the match.” he said.

MinD_ContRoL joined Tundra Esports just around a month earlier. His departure does come as a shock for the Dota 2 community, leaving everyone wondering the reason for kicking him out.

Why was MinD_ContRoL removed?

After the incident, MinD_ContRoL appeared as a guest on Janne ‘gorge’ Stefanovski’s live stream. There, he explained the current situation. The player revealed that before Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko, he used to be the in-game leader.

He said that as long as the team was winning, he did not mind the change. However, the appointment of David “MoonMeander” Tan Boon Yang as coach did not sit well with him. Furthermore, the arrival of Ludwig “Zai” Wåhlberg recently as the general manager was the tipping point.

MinD_ContRoL believed these decisions by the org were wrong and there were a lot of decision-making voices for the team. This led him to make some demands, which resulted in the action by the esports organization.

Tundra Esports also confirmed the suspension on X. As per the official statement by the org, MinD_ContRoL put out some unreasonable demands, saying he would not represent or play for the org unless his demands were met.

As of now, MinD_ContRoL have decided to take a break from Dota 2. It is unclear what the future holds for the player, but as of now, he is taking time off to organize his thoughts.
