‘Tumhara Bhi Katega bhai’ – Fans react as Prithvi Shaw spotted at IIFA awards with his girlfriend Nidhi Tapadia
India’s young turk Prithvi Shaw was seen at the IIFA awards which was held on Friday. He was seen alongside his girlfriend Nidhi Tapdia. Shaw struck a pose with Nidhi and the video has been doing the rounds on social media.
The cricketer was bathed in all black, sporting a sleeveless jacket, black shirt, black jeans and a black cap to complete the set. Meanwhile, Nidhi, who is famous for her acting and modeling, was wearing a black saree as the couple posed for pictures for the paparazzi.
Shaw has not had it easy on the cricket field in recent times. He was off the boil for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023. The Mumbai batter starred in just eight games for the franchise. The right hander had an underwhelming season as the average of 13,25 and strike rate of 124.70 shows. He just scored 106 runs to his name. DC did not have the best of seasons in the IPL 2023 as well. They finished ninth on the points table with just five wins.
Ricky Ponting had said that Prithvi Shaw could have a breakout season in IPL 2023
Shaw, recently, made it back to the Indian squad for the T20I series against New Zealand on the back of some great domestic form. But he did not get an opportunity to prove himself there. Shaw scored just the lone half-century in IPL 2023, This reflects the season that he has had. It looks like Shaw will not have an easy road back to the Indian side. There have been other noteworthy performances by the youngsters in the tournament.
Shaw had a much better IPL season in 2022. In 10 matches, he scored 283 runs at an average of 28.30 and a strike rate of 152.97. he scored two half-centuries back then. He has not had the best of times off the field as he was involved in an altercation with an Instagram celebrity that made a lot of headlines on social media.
Ricky Ponting had made a big statement ahead of IPL 2023 that Shaw will have a breakthrough season this year. Ponting further emphasized that people will see the ‘best of Prithvi Shaw’. But as they stats say, IPL 2023 has completely backfired for the Mumbaikar.
