Mohammed Siraj has started taking the right strides in IPL 2023. The Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer picked up 4-21 in his four overs. It was a great spell of bowling which ultimately won RCB the game in a sea-saw clash. RCB beat B With this win RCB have got a valuable two points and have moved up to 5th position in the points table for now.

Siraj was also very good in the field as he ran out Harpreet Singh Bhatia with a well-directed throw. Siraj was his usual self and bustling with energy. Virat Kohli took up the reins of captaincy and it was great to see the two combining together again. After the match, Siraj received the purple cap, and he was moist eyed when it happened. He had an interesting story to share about the purple cap.

“When Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the purple cap in the 2017 IPL, I went on his behalf to collect the Purple Cap. I also had a dream that I should also win a Purple Cap. So it is a very nice feeling to hold it currently”. Siraj said when he received the cap after the match. Siraj started his IPL career with Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the 2017 edition he formed a good pairing with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and picked up 10 wickets in the six games he played.

After Punjab Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first. RCB had an innings of two halves. The Bold Army were 91-0 after 10 overs. But they rapidly slowed down from there. RCB could end up with just 174-4 in their 20 overs. In the second innings, they stepped up with the ball in hand. Wanindu Hasaranga came in and picked up 2-39 in his four overs. The Bold Army were very good in the field as well. Hasaranga  dismissed Sam Curran with a razor-sharp throw.

Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma were the only tow batters who could hang in there and keep PBKS in the hunt. But in the end it was not enough. Prabhsimran scored 46 off 30 balls with three fours and four sixes. Jitesh scored 41 off 27 balls with two fours and three sixes.
