India came up with a humiliating defeat against England in the 20-20 World Cup Semi-final. The Rohit Sharma-led team were outclassed by Jos Buttler’s side who won the game by a massive 10 wickets.

What followed was the heartbreak of millions of Indian cricket fans who are waiting for a major trophy since the 2013 Champions League. It was also a similarly heart-breaking moment for players as well who took part in the game and had hoped to bring a World Cup trophy to the nation.

Hardik Pandya who played a great knock of 63 off of 33 deliveries took to Twitter to showcase his disappointment and hearbreak after the loss. The Indian all-rounder posted four pictures from the campaign along with the caption, “Devastated, gutted, hurt. Tough to take, for all of us. To my teammates, I’ve enjoyed the bond that we built – we fought for each other every step of the way. Thank you to our support staff for their endless dedication and hardwork for months on end.”

The middle-order batter also thanked fans and vowed to keep fighting. He wrote in another tweet, “To our fans who backed us everywhere we went, we’re forever grateful. It wasn’t meant to be but we’ll and keep fighting.”

India lost the semi-final match despite Pandya’s heroics in the first innings. The Men in Blue made 168/6 in 20 overs on the back of Virat Kohli and Pandya’s half-century. While the score seemed par for the track and conditions at first, it was an entirely different
