‘Total Domination from Paarl Royals’- Twitter buzzing as Paarl Royals beat Joburg Super Kings by 7 wickets
The match between the Joburg Super Kings (JSK) and Paarl Royals in the SA20 was a low-scoring encounter with Royals chasing down a meagre target of 82 in 10.3 overs. This was the first win for the Royals after their loss against MI Cape Town.
The game was played at Boland Park, and it was the JSK that won the toss and chose to bowl. The JSK recorded a wonderful win against the Durban Super Giants but they failed to come to the party in this game. They did not get off to a start as the Joburg side were four down for just 16 on the board.
Bjorn Fortuin struck twice with the new ball early on to put JSK on the back foot, and batters Janneman Malan and Reeza Hendricks were the victims. Then Faf du Plessis was dismissed by Lungi Ngidi. Kyle Verreynne was out lbw to Tabraiz Shamsi and was back in the hut.
Paarl Royals open their account in SA20
Due to this early setback, there was pressure on the batters that were coming in and none of them could convert their starts. At 55-9, it seemed that things were down and out for Joburg but Aaron Phangiso hung in there and made 10 off 19. Lizaad Williams made 17 off 18 with two boundaries and was the highest scorer of the innings. Fortuin and Evan Jones picked up three wickets each in their respective spells
Joburg ended with just 81 on the board for the loss of 10 wickets. In the second innings, it was an easy chase for Paarl as they got home in 10.3 overs with 10 overs to spare. Jos Buttler held the innings together with his 29 off 21 balls with four fours. Jason Roy looked good for his 12 with two fours but was dismissed by George Garton.
Wihan Lubbe hit four fours in his short innings of 19 off 13. David Miller stayed with Buttler, in the end, to provide Paarl with a seven-wicket win. Let us take a look at the reactions on Twitter.

With immediate effect Paarl Royals should sign a replacement for Obed McCoy or this season there going to struggle with in their pacing department.
Carlos Brathwaite, Oshane Thomas, Matheesha Pathirana, Ollie Robinson, are some options which i feel are available.

Have absolutely zero connect as a fan with Paarl Royals, but this bowling attack was always going to do well at home. Two top quality spinners, bigger boundaries, slow conditions, and of course, Ngidi and the ‘Iceman’ Ferisco Adams. Batting still a concern. #SA20
