Top records Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki needs to break to become the biggest blockbuster of the year
Bollywood’s Badshah Shah Rukh Khan is all set to make a hat trick this year. The Indian superstar who started the year with the blockbuster Pathaan gave the highest grosser of India. Later, he broke his own record in September along with the ace filmmaker Atlee and his film Jawan. The actor is in competition with himself as he is back to challenge himself at the box office with his third movie of the year. This time, the audience will get to experience the magic of the never-seen-before actor-filmmaker duo Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani with the movie Dunki.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the release of the most awaited film Dunki. This film will mark the collaboration of the veteran filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani who has given some cult classics like Munna Bhai MBBS, P.K, and Sanju along with the leading star of India SRK. Dunki is all set to hit the theatres on 21st December 2023. The movie has been creating havoc on social media with its teasers, trailers, and song releases. The movie will be facing a big clash at the box office as Prabhas starrer Salaar: Ceasefire is all set to hit the screens on the same day.

Dunki needs to break Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s record in the U.S.A. and Canada to become the top opener overseas. Animal movie had minted 2.77 million dollars. Apart from Animal, Dunki also has tough competitors like Leo (2.53 million dollars), Tiger 3 (1.91 million dollars), and Jailer (1.86 million dollars).
2. Biggest blockbusters in Australia:
Dunki to the top in Australia will have to beat three big hits of the year. These films have become the biggest hits in Australia – Animal (4.74 million dollars), Pathaan (4.73 million dollars), and Jawan (4.68 million dollars). Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki will have to break Animal’s 16-day streak record in Australia.
3. Biggest openers record:
Currently, the top openers overseas are Leo, Tiger 3, and Animal. The Thalapathy Vijay movie Leo earned 8.1 million dollars, the Salman Khan starrer made 5 million dollars and Ranbir Kapoor minted 4.9 million dollars in the overseas market.
4. India’s top-grosser movie bar is high:
To become the top grosser of India this year Dunki has to beat Jawan. Currently, Jawan stands at the first post with 643.87 crores of rupees. Then Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 stands at 525.45 crores rupees. In the third place, Shah Rukh Khan comes back with his movie Pathaan at 487.99 crores rupees.
5. The 500 crores club:
Dunki will have to enter the 500 crores rs club to become a blockbuster of 2023 along with Pathaan, Jawan, Gadar 2, and Animal.
