Bangladesh shocked the world by reaching their first-ever Asia Cup final against Pakistan in 2012. The match was played at Mirpur as Pakistan put up 236/9 on the board after batting first. Chasing 237 for a win, Tamim Iqbal began well with 60 before the home team lost wickets. Shakib Al Hasan chipped top scored with 68 for the home team. Bangladesh needed 9 off the last over with Aizaz Cheema bowling it.
The equation boiled down to four needed of two balls when Abdur Razzak was bowled by Cheema to make it 4 runs of 1 ball. Shahadat Hossain could only get 1 leg bye as Pakistan won by two runs. Bangladeshi fans and the players openly wept in front of the world as they suffered a massive heartbreak.
