Returning to reality after the holidays can be quite depressing, but at least you have exciting things to look forward to every day when you get home from work thanks to the top action films available on Netflix right now. These action movies will make all your blues go away.

Action movies content on Netflix is always fantastic, including both original and third-party films, but lately, it’s been getting even better. While the DCEU adds one more film (and soon-to-be franchise) to Netflix, a few fantastic franchises join the library this month. Check out the list below.

Just-in action movies on Netflix:

5. John Wick (2014):

Hollywood rarely finds a franchise like John Wick that isn’t predicated on an already-existing work of intellectual property. Given that Keanu Reeves, who was largely disreputable in 2014, starred in the movie, John Wick had very low expectations. But it really did smash them.  Heart-pounding action, surprises, and an amazing sense of style are all present in the John Wick franchise, which follows a retired assassin who is pulled back into the criminal underworld after an overly sensitive wannabe gangster kills his dog.

4. Desperado (1995):

Desperado, the sequel to Robert Rodriguez’s beloved film El Mariachi, narrates the new story of El Mariachi (Antonio Banderas), who follows a trail of blood into the border underworld in pursuit of Bucho (Joaquim de Almeida), the final Mexican drug lord. El Mariachi finds Bucho with the aid of a few friends and the proprietor of the bookstore, Carolina (Salma Hayek Pinault), and the mayhem begins.

3. 65 (2023):

Astronauts versus dinosaurs? Yes, exactly! In the 2023 Sleeper Hit 65, Adam Driver plays a space pilot who is killed in a terrible crash on an unidentified planet. But Mills (the Driver) soon discovers he’s not on a strange planet. He was only on Earth 65 million years ago. Strange terrain and dangerous creatures abound on the prehistoric planet, but Mills and the lone survivor, Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), must brave it out to reach their only chance of rescue.

2. Uncharted (2022):

Uncharted, the video game adaption, evokes memories of the more straightforward adventure films of the 1980s and 1990s. Streetwise thief Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) is hired by treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to retrieve a fortune that Ferdinand Magellan’s crew amassed and misplaced. But the family that funded the journey 500 years prior, House Moncada, still claims ownership of that treasure.

1. All Quiet on the Western Front (2022):

With its massive budget and incredible special effects, the most recent version of Erich Maria Remarque’s groundbreaking war novel All Quiet on the Western Front is a worthy remake of the 1930 film.
