Ajinkya Rahane, known for his composed batting style, captained India in T20 internationals during a transitional phase but eventually faded from the T20 international scene. Despite being a key player in Test cricket and occasionally in ODIs, Rahane couldn’t secure a permanent spot in India’s T20 squad. His leadership stint in T20s was short-lived, and he faced tough competition for middle-order slots in the limited-overs format. Rahane’s focus primarily remained on Test cricket, where he excelled as a dependable batsman. While he didn’t sustain a significant presence in T20 internationals, Rahane continued to contribute to Indian cricket predominantly through Test matches. During India’s tour of Zimbabwe in 2015, Rahane was the captain of the T20 side as well. The Mumbai-born won 1 match as skipper and lost 1 in a two-match T20I series. His winning percentage as a T20I skipper is 50%.
