TNPL 2022: Match 10 Nellai Royal Kings vs Siechem Madurai Panthers- Match Report

With 10 matches done, this season’s Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) looks set on breaking last season’s viewership records, all thanks to high-quality cricket.

Let’s review one such game that took place on July 5th between Nellai Royal Kings and Siechem Madurai Panthers.

Match 10: Nellai Royal Kings vs Siechem Madurai Panthers

In the 10th match of the TNPL 2022, the table-toppers Nellai Royal Kings faced the second-placed Siechem Madurai Panthers. None of the teams had seen defeat in the TNPL 2022 so far and so it was going to be one team who would taste defeat for the first time. Sadly, for SMP, they were the ones who lost.

After winning the toss, the SMP team decided to field first showing massive praise for their batters. The Nellai Royal Kings openers Sri Neranjan R (47 off of 27) and Pradosh Ranjan Paul (10 off 9) got off to a decent start but the latter could not build on it and lost his wicket at a team total of 35. The next batters Baba Aparajith (34 off of 27), Sanjay Yadav (70 off of 42) and Baba Indrajith (34 off of 18) got the team to a huge 209/3.

L Kiran Sandhu was the best bowler from the SMP side with a bowling figure of 4-44-2. Coming on to chase the huge total, the SMP stumbled at the first step itself and lost their opener B Anirudh Sita Ram at just one run. The other opener Arun Karthik however was able to hit a sensational 106 off of just 57 balls to carry the SMP chase deep. On way to his century knock, the wicketkeeper batter hit 12 boundaries and five sixes.

He however did not get any help from other batters in what seemed like a one-man army. The second top score for the team was 27 by captain N Sarangarajan Chaturved. NS Harish with a bowling figure of 4-30-3 was NRK’s best bowler.
