‘Timing of Test Championship is injurious’- Rohit Sharma hints some Indian players could leave early from Indian T20 League for Test Championship
The Indian team emerged victorious against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, winning the series by 2-1. This is the fourth time on the spin that India have beaten Australia at the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India have made the Test Championship final for the second time in a row. They will play Australia in England at The Oval between June 7 to 11 at the Oval.
India started the series on a strong note with a commanding win at Nagpur, winning by an innings and 132 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin was at his magical best throughout the series. The spin wizard picked 25 wickets from four matches at an average of 17.28. His best spell came on a minefield at Ahmedabad where he picked up 6-91. After the series, Rohit Sharma said, “By May 21st, 6 teams Will be out of Indian T20 League so we will try to get those players early to UK”.
India will play the Indian T20 League after the three-match ODI series against Australia. After the highly intensive season, the Test Championship final will be played. The Indian players need to manage their workloads to avoid injuries before the high-profile final. India and Australia will play at vastly different conditions in comparison to India.
For the Test Championship final, the battle will be between the Indian batters and the Australian quicks in English conditions. India did not fit the bill at Edgbaston as they lost the final in 2021 to New Zealand. They will be hoping to break their trophy drought since 2013. India prepared turning wickets in the BGT and their bowlers exploited it to the fullest.
Ravindra Jadeja had a memorable comeback in white flannels as he picked up 22 wickets in the series at an average of 18.86. The left-arm spinner made Australia dance to his tunes at Delhi where he picked up 7-42. His spell changed the game for India as they won by 6 wickets.

Rohit is a key player for WTC. As an MI fan, I hope that MI is eliminated ASAP so that India has high chances of winning the WTC final.

Why?? All the players of test squad should skip the IPL in the second half just as Ben Stokes
— Ravindra (@ravironaldinho) March 13, 2023
It will be good if these players don't play in ipl..they will get enough time for rest, recovery and practice with Duke ball for finals..

Sad that no one is happy about their early practice of them, in this comment section. Everyone interested in rohit losing the IPL. Hope they will grow up.

That's the right thing to do. Getting players acclimatized to the conditions is important. Also, if possible @BCCI @RogerBinnyBCCI sir, @JayShah sir should try to arrange a match or 2 against County teams as Warm-ups before WTC Final to see the best team combination possible.
