Three fans detained because of Homophobic chants during Wolves vs Chelsea Premier League clash
The game of football is known as a beautiful game. This game fascinates and enchants fans all around the world. This game makes fans go crazy over their favourite players and teams. The speed of the game is very high octane and since it is not a long-duration sport, it strikes a chord with the fans. The result will be known in most cases after a hard-fought game. But some fans do not appreciate football in its purest form.
They end up doing things to tarnish the image of the game. One such instance happened recently. Three fans were apprehended in a Premier League game that took place between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Chelsea. The fans were in this state due to their unwarranted and disrespectful homophobic chants. The spectators kept on going at it continuously and did not want to stop. They were first handed out a verbal warning by the officials.

They were also given warnings from the stadium announcer verbally and it was informed that if they continue their shenanigans they would be evicted from the stadium. When the chants continued after halftime, the West Midlands Police detained the three men aged 24, 32 and 21. The officials at the Premier League said the chants were uncalled for The Wolves won the game 1-0.
“The homophobic chanting heard at the Wolverhampton Wanderers versus Chelsea fixture today has no place in football or society. The Premier League condemns all forms of discrimination. Football is for everyone”. The Premier League officials said in an official statement.

“It condemns the homophobic chanting by some home fans at Molineux this afternoon. Chelsea will continue to work closely with Chelsea Pride and the broader football community to eradicate these vile chants from our game. Chelsea said in the club’s official statement. The fans who were arrested have got bail. The police are still working on the investigation. A thorough check of the CCTV recordings have been made and more arrests would take place as the new faces come out.
