‘This is what heroes do’ – Fans react as Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma launch non-profit initiative ‘SEVVA’

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma launched their non-profit initiative SeVVA. The aim of the organisation is to assist those in need. The joint non-profit cause came about after the merger of both Kohli’s and Anushka’s foundation. The couple issued a joint statement and said that the foundation is not aligned to just one cause.

‘For in truth it is life that gives unto life- while you, who deem yourself a giver, are but a witness’. Kahil Gibran said. With this sentiment in mind, we have decided to work together through SeVVA aiming to reach out to as many people as possible. SeVVA’s work won’t be confined to a particular issue as it will continue to strive for social good by championing humanity which is the need of the hour today,” Kohli and Anushka said.

Before the merger took place, Anushka’s foundation was called Anushka Sharma Foundation. On the other hand, Kohli’s foundation was called Virat Kohli Foundation. Kohli will continue to give out sports scholarships and also help in sponsoring athletes. Anushka will continue to be associated with animal welfare as she has done in the past. With SeVVA as a medium, the foundation aims to look into areas that concern society at large.

Kohli and Anushka wedded on December 11, 2017, in Italy. The power couple became parents in January 2021. Thye welcomed Vamika, their daughter on January 11, 2021. Anushka recently did a quick cameo in Qala. Her next movie will be Chakda Express which is a biopic of former India pacer Jhulan Goswami. The film will be broadcasted on Netflix.

Kohli recently broke his barren patch of form in Test cricket. He scored a beautiful 186 in the fourth Test at Ahmedabad. The former India captain had a lukewarm series in the ODIs against Australia. In the third ODI, Kohli scored a fifty, but he did not trouble the scorers in the first and second ODI against the Kangaroos.
