MS Dhoni might have retired from international cricket years ago but still receive immense amount of love from the fans. He called it a day from international cricket on 15th August 2020 but actively participates for Chennai in the Indian T20 League.

Last year, it was speculated that the 2019 edition would be his last. However, the legendary cricketer, later, stated that it wouldn’t be ideal to call it a day without the presence of Chennai fans. Age is definitely not on his side and MS Dhoni is, certainly, not the player that he used to be.

However, his cricketing acumen and experience might tempt the franchise to make him stay for as long as possible. If reports are to be believed, the upcoming edition of the tournament could be his last.

On Monday, the fans were allowed to enter inside the stadium during Chennai’s practice session. And, the moment Dhoni walked in to bat, the crowd went berserk with chants of Dhoni! Dhoni!

The fans on Twitter are stunned to see the immense craze for the legendary Indian skipper. Here’s a look at some of the reactions:

Chennai didn’t have a great campaign last year. MS Dhoni handed over the captaincy duties to Ravindra Jadeja prior to the start of the season. However, the latter couldn’t live up to the expectations as Chennai lost games pretty badly. As it turned out, Dhoni took back the captaincy but the franchise still finished at ninth positon on the points table, winning four matches out of 14.

It will be interesting to see how the franchise turns up this year. They have acquired a world-class all-rounder Ben Stokes for a whopping amount. He will also have a lot of responsibility on his shoulders alongside the likes of Dhoni, Jadeja, Moeen Ali, Conway etc.
