Coming up with and telling original stories is a great idea. Suppose you can display it on a large screen, all the better. However, it merits careful consideration before serving something as tasteless and absurd as Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (TBMAUJ). This Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon‘s sci-fi romantic comedy tests your patience to the point where, after a while, you realise you’ve been trapped in a losing battle in the name of experimentation.

Or possibly duped into thinking it’s genuinely a fresh concept or a reasonable and plausible tale of a human and a robot falling in love. The film pushes the boundaries of sanity in an attempt to depict conflict and coexistence between humans and machines, leaving you with a lot of unanswered questions. All other futuristic films and television series that attempted to entertain us or at least keep us engrossed in the world of science and robots pale in comparison to Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. Do you recall Rajinikanth from Chitti? He was charming and kept us interested every time he performed an on-screen stunt or got into trouble. He was really quite humorous!

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya Review:

With all of the senseless events taking place on screen, the first half is nothing more than a snoozefest. It’s impossible to call the way Aryan and Sifra first meet, get intimate, share some hot lip locks, and make love without realising that Sifra is a robot realistic. Only when Aryan brings Sifra home in the second half does the science fiction start to become lighthearted and enjoyable for the whole family.

However, some of the jokes are so bad that they even seem to be expecting you to laugh artificially, like Sifra. “Main toh bhaag raha hoon” is what Aryan says to his dada in one of the scenes where he is running from his house. I couldn’t help but think of Geet from Jab We Met. Unfortunately, the understatement of this one scene, which the filmmakers could have used to create a wow moment, makes it hardly noticeable or leaves an impression.

The film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is a rather dull and uninteresting watch that primarily aims to capitalise on its attractive lead couple. If anything, the three song and dance scenes in the movie, along with the title song in the end credits, could be what makes going to the movies fun.
