‘Teen peg ka baad bol raha hai’ -Fans react as Prithvi Shaw says that he has no idea about Bazball
Bazball has been a hot topic around the cricketing world ever since Brendon McCullum has taken over the reins of England Cricket as Test match coach. The philosophy for England in Tests has been to go hard with the bat and keep attacking no matter what the situation. In contrast, the Three Lions were victorious over India and New Zealand in Tests at home and in Pakistan, where they won 3-0. the same cannot be said about the Ashes. England are trailing 2-1 going into the fourth Test at Old Trafford.
The Three Lions suffered two defeats one by 2 wickets at Edgbaston and the other by 43 runs at Lord’s. They however came back with a hard-fought win in the third Test at Headingley, With two Tests still left to be played, England will want to win at Old Trafford to keep the Ashes series alive. Australia on the other hand will want to close things at Old Trafford. On another note, When Prithvi Shaw was asked about Bazball, here is what he had to say.
I don’t think I understand what they mean when they say Bazball – Prithvi Shaw
When we talk about Shaw, his next assignment will be county cricket in England for Northamptonshire. Currently, Shaw is facing a roadblock as he has not flown down to England yet due to visa issues. The likes of Anil Kumble, Bishan Singh Bedi and Sourav Ganguly have all played for the club in the past and Shaw joins an exclusive list of players.
“I don’t think understand what they mean when they say Bazball. I assume looking at Mitchell Marsh bat that he’s a proper Bazball cricketer. People will come out with new names. The way I play is that if I see the ball, I hit the ball. I don’t know what people will call that. Whether they call it baseball, hockey or whatever they want to call it, at the end of day, woh apna cricket hai (that’s our sport – cricket). Shaw said on Cricbuzz in an interview. The 2023 Ashes series has been electrifying and has produced very high-quality cricket.
Ben Stokes has been at the forefront for England in the Ashes 2o23, while the Three Lions have not looked the well-oiled unit that they have been, Stokes’s form with the bat and his captaincy decisions have been the highlight for England. The left-hander has hit a memorable hundred at Lords which had everyone on the edge of their seats. He has also struck 309 runs in three innings at an average of 51.50.
