The Phoenix Suns finally snapped out of a losing streak on Thursday Night. They defeated Orlando 116-113. The Suns survived a late scare in the second half run by magic that saw Orlando come back despite trailing 12 points behind.

There was, however, a clutch block which was initiated by Suns wing Josh Okogie on Magic rookie forward Paolo Banchero’s game-tying 3-point attempt shattered Orlando’s hopes of forcing overtime.

The coach of the Sun’s side Monty Willams had a breath of fresh air after his side eked out a win after they were not on the winning side in the last few games. Williams spoke about what the win meant to his team. “In the fourth, our offense kind of got away from us a bit, but we were able to make enough plays,” Williams stated.

You could just feel it on the guys – Phoenix Sun’s coach Monty Williams

“It’s been an emotional week for the guys, with travel, playing in some close games, like all week. You could just feel it on the guys. I think they need a day to just fill their cup a little bit, so we can get back to playing solid, and being able to maintain that offensive and defensive production,” He said that the team needs a recharge after a nail-biting finish.

Five players from the Phoenix side bagged 15 points on Thursday. Star shooting guard Devon Brooker led the charge. He finished with 19 points. He had two assists and five rebounds with a 41.2 percent on shooting. Five players from Magic finished on 16 points. After Phoenix won the game 38-22, they remain in the fourth position in the Western Conference. Orlando has lost two games on the trot and also give out of its last six games.

The Suns will face OKC next on Sunday after a well-deserved two-day break.  One game will be against a side which is above 500. This will do the qualification chances of the Sun’s no harm. They have chances of getting a top 4 playoff spot.
