The 4th Test of the India vs England series out of nowhere has come into the grasp of the Indians. The England team would have thought that they were completely in control of the game after 2 days. The Indian team managed to take the game away from the visitors on the 3rd day. It all started with an exceptional innings from Dhruv Jurel who got the team close to the first innings total. It was then the spin trio, who came back stronger and got them bowled out for 145.

The Indians are not in a very comfortable position in the game to seal the series in this game. Though Jurel played a great innings, we cannot forget the contribution from Ravichandran Ashwin, who took his 35th five-wicket haul to put the England team on the back foot. Ashwin has not only brought up 500 wickets in this series but has had a decent series as well taking 17 wickets in the 4 games.

Sunny and Ashwin’s great conversation

After taking 5 wickets Ashwin had an interview with the Jio Cinema experts. One of them was none other than legendary India batter Sunil Gavaskar. The little master had suggested that Ashwin after winning and sealing the series in Ranchi, should be leading the side in the 5th Test in Dharamshala. To which the 37-year-old off-spinner gave a humble reply saying “ Sunny bhai, you are being too generous, thanks so much. However, expectations about all these things, I think I am well past all that. But genuinely saying, that I am enjoying every single moment I am being with this team. The longer it lasts, I will be happy.”

It might not be a bad option for Ashwin to lead the team in a final Test match. Ashwin is one of the smartest cricketers in the game, making him a perfect choice as a skipper. It might be slightly late for the cricketer to take the leadership role right now, but it can still be something special. Ashwin will also be playing his 100th Test match as well in Dharamshala. It seems unlikely that he will lead the team, but it would still be an interesting decision.
