The Ashes 2023 series has brought the fire back which was missing in the cricket universe over the past few years. Australia have already beaten England in the first two Tests and have taken a lead of 2-0 as well. The 2 Tests have already seen multiple heated moments between both teams.

However, what caught the most attention was Jonny Bairstow’s controversial dismissal during the 2nd Test. Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey run Bairstow out when the English batter carelessly left the crease after ducking a bouncer. After which, England skipper Ben Stokes said that he’d never want to win a match like this. England Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also came front and supported what Stokes said.

“The prime minister agrees with (England captain) Ben Stokes who said he simply wouldn’t want to win a game in the manner that Australia did,” Sunak’s spokesman was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

I’m proud of our men’s and women’s cricket teams: Australian PM Anthony Albanese

Meanwhile, Australia’s PM Anthony Albanese has taken a dig at Sunak and said that he understands his disappointment but he did not take the same lesson which Albanese got in primary schools ‘Stay in your crease’

“I understand PM Rishi Sunak’s disappointment, but he must not have had the same lessons I got in primary school at St Joseph’s Camperdown: ‘Stay in your crease’, “Hope you’re well, PM,” Albanese said.

Albanese also took to Twitter and appreciated the Australian men’s and women’s cricket teams for defeating the 3 Lions in the first 2 Ashes matches. He even mentioned the captains Pat Cummins and Alyssa Healy for leading the team so well. Albanese said that he is looking forward to welcoming both teams home victorious.

“I’m proud of our men’s and women’s cricket teams, who have both won their opening two #Ashes matches against England. Same old Aussies – always winning! Australia is right behind Alyssa Healy and Pat Cummins and their teams and looks forward to welcoming them home victorious,” Albanese tweeted.
