Star Australia fast-bowler ruled out of the last two Tests against India

Australia have had to deal with two major problems that have made the ongoing India tour bad to worse for the Kangaroos. Cricket Australia have made the return of Pat Cummins to Australian soil official due to family problems. Cummins is the Test skipper of Australia.

Along with this, Australia have been dealt with a killer blow as star Australian quick Josh Hazelwood has been ruled out of the remaining two Tests against India. Australia head coach Andrew Mcdonald has revealed that Hazelwood is yet to recover from his Achilles niggle in his left leg due to which he missed the first two Tests. The coach said that he will continue his recovery in Australia.

Australia have had injury concerns going into the Test series as Mitchell Starc did not play the first two Tests due to a finger injury. Mcdonald also said that Starc would come back in the third Test. He also claimed that Cameron Green is a hundred per cent fit going into the Third Test.

The Test Championship final hinges on this series for India and Australia. India need to win the Test series by a 3-0 or a 3-1 margin to play the Test Championship in England. India made it to the final of the Test Championship in 2021 but lost to New Zealand at Southampton.

Australia lost the first two Tests against India at Nagpur and Delhi. With these Test losses from Australia, India have retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India beat Australia at Nagpur by an innings and 132 runs. In the second Test at Delhi, they won by six wickets. Both the Tests were finished in three days.

Australia have lost the last three editions of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. One Test series was held in India in 2017 where India beat Australia 2-1. Then the last two editions were held in Australia in 2018 and 2021 where India beat Australia in 2018 by a 2-1 margin and in 2021 by the same margin which included a historic victory at the Gabba.
