Kolkata Knight Riders outclassed Sunrisers Hyderabad in another last-over thriller to keep their hopes alive in the tournament. Both teams locked horns in the 47th match of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The visitors’ skipper Nitish Rana won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first at the mixed-supportive surface of the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. Batting first, the KKR went on to post a decent total of 171 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Later on, they successfully defended the target owing to the excellent bowling in the death overs to restrict SRH. Subsequently, cricket fans also came up with a lot of interesting reactions and responses on the micro-blogging site Twitter in the aftermath of this thrilling encounter between both teams.

Talking about the entire action of the match, the in-form Southpaw Rinku Singh played another crucial knock for KKR and contributed 46 runs with four boundaries and a six to his name. Other than him, the skipper Nitish Rana also contributed with the very important 42 runs with three boundaries and the same number of sixes to his name.

On the back of these knocks, KKR somehow managed to post a total of 171 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the first 20 overs of the game.

Later on, while chasing the target, the star batters, skipper Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klassen contributed with individual scores of 41 and 36 runs respectively. But their knocks went in vain as the hosts failed to chase down the target of 172 runs and fell short of it by 6 runs to lose the match by 5 runs.

Vaibhav Arora and Shardul Thakur scalped two wickets each alongside one wicket each by other bowlers except Sunil Narine.

Eventually, Varun Chakravarthy, who bowled the brilliant last over for KKR won the ‘Player of the Match award for his amazing economical bowling and scalping one wicket.
