Sreesanth’s dreadful attack on Gautam Gambhir during LLC Eliminator
Tempers flared in the Legends League Cricket 2023 Eliminator as former Indian teammates Sreesanth and Gambhir engaged in a heated verbal altercation on the field. The incident, which caught the attention of spectators and media alike, has now taken a new turn with Sreesanth’s scathing attack on Gambhir after the match.
The incident began in the second over of the first innings, with Sreesanth apparently saying something to Gambhir that sparked the tension. The exchange escalated quickly, with television cameras capturing a tense argument between the two players. Their body language and gestures hinted at a significant disagreement. As the situation threatened to turn ugly, the umpire and the Gujarat Giants’ wicketkeeper, Parthiv Patel intervened to separate Sreesanth and Gambhir.
Following the match, Sreesanth took to social media to address the situation and expressed his anger against the former teammate. In a video that he uploaded, Sreesanth referred to Gambhir as “Mr. Fighter” and expressed his frustration with the incident.

“Just wanted to clear the air with what happened with Mr. Fighter. One who always fights with all his colleagues. For no reason whatsoever. He does not even respect his own senior players, including Viru Bhai. That’s exactly what happened today. Without any provocation, he just kept on calling me something which was very rude which shouldn’t have been said by Mr Gautam Gambhir,” Sreesanth said. Sreesanth also vowed to publicly reveal details of what Gambhir said and he has done that today.
Taking to Instagram live, Sreesanth revealed that Gambhir called him a “fixer” and told him to “f**k off” on multiple occasions, even in front of the umpires.

On his part, Gambhir has chosen a cryptic response. He took to social media, sharing an image of himself smiling with the caption: “Smile when the world is all about attention!” This enigmatic post has fueled speculation and debate, leaving many to interpret its intended message. While it could be a general statement about ignoring negativity, the timing and context suggest a veiled reference to the ongoing controversy.
