The move comes as the opening ceremony was not held in the ODI World Cup before the inaugural match between New Zealand and England. There was huge criticism from the fans for skipping the inaugural ceremony of the tournament.
Bu the hosts and the international cricket board is set to compensate for it, as a special ceremony will happen in the world’s biggest cricket stadium. The match has a lot of hype, and the fans are highly excited for it. As a result, the hosts are interested to arrange a special ceremony before the start of the match, which can entertain the crowd. But even this move is criticized by the fans.
Since there was no opening ceremony, the teams like England and New Zealand would be disappointed by it. But the arrangement of a special ceremony for the match between India and Pakistan, which is neither a tournament opener, nor the final of the tournament, has not gone well with the fans. The hosts and the international cricket board are being accused of setting a monopoly in the tournament.
