The Indian players who are on the tour of the West Indies have begun their practice. The men in blue are set to play two Tests, three ODIs, and 5 T20is in the tour. The two Tests have immense significance in India’s campaign in World Test Championship 2023-25. The three ODIs act as India’s preparations for ODI World Cup later this year. T20Is can potentially see new faces in the Indian squad who performed well in Indian Premier League 2023.

Outside the practice, the Indian players have met the legendary Cricketer from West Indies, Sir Garfield Sobers. The former West Indian Cricket giant met many Indian Cricketers and the coaching staff including Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Rahul Dravid. All the players that met the great Cricketer expressed their happiness. Virat Kohli was satisfied after meeting the legendary All-rounder. It was like two different eras coming together.

Garry Sobers talks about Indian cricket and players

The West Indian great interacted with Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and other Cricketers, and spoke highly about them. Garry Sobers said, “Indian team has great players with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. They have been really good and India cricket is very popular here”. The 86-year-old appreciated the growth of the Indian team and the players. The former West Indian captain was particularly impressed with the talent of Shubman Gill and the way Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have performed for India over the years.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been giants of Indian cricket for the last 10-15 years. The two are currently in the Caribbean islands on a tour of the West Indies. Virat Kohli has scored 8479, 12898, and 4008 runs in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is respectively. Rohit Sharma has scored 3437, 9825, and 3853 runs in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is respectively. The duo has been the regulars in the Indian team for a long time. The two have also led the Indian team over the years and shaped the Indian team.
